The Blaming Nature of Mankind in the Face of Natural Disasters: Why Trusting in God Helps Navigate Tough Times When natural disasters such as floods, earthquakes, hurricanes, or tsunamis occur, they often leave behind unimaginable devastation. Homes are destroyed, lives are lost, and communities are torn apart. In the aftermath, a natural response many people turn to is blame. We blame ourselves for not being prepared, blame governments for lack of prevention, or, most commonly, blame God for allowing such tragedies. This tendency to cast blame is rooted in humanity’s struggle to make sense of suffering and chaos. However, while blaming can temporarily satisfy our need to explain what has happened, it does little to solve the real problems we face or provide a pathway for healing and restoration.
